This body of work reflects my fascination with objects and their inherent qualities, their essence and their objecthood. We understand objects and relate to them based on our previous experiences, through their primary functions, and through the context in which we expect to find them.
In an effort to challenge this mechanical process of classification of familiar objects, I set intriguing compositions; sometimes by placing the objects in unfamiliar contexts, others by questioning their essential materiality. In this way, I try to motivate the observer to reconsider previous concepts and to inquire about the nature of the objects themselves.
My work’s goal is just to trigger questions, stimulating a reflective process.
